New Horizons Visit

Pictured above are Senator Troy Balderson (left), Nate Green, Clinical Director (center) and Tony Motta, CEO

Senator Balderson visited the agency on April 1 to learn first hand about the mental health needs of the Fairfield County community and the array of services provided by New Horizons Youth and Family Center and Pickerington Area Counseling Service.   State and federal financial support for community mental health care was also discussed.   We are grateful to Troy for taking the time to become acquainted with mental health issues.

We can help!  Call us today.
Treatment works.

  • Feel anxious, hopeless, depressed, stuck or confused?
  • Is your life is in transition, trying to make a major life decision?
  • Have a physical health problem that is affecting your mental health?
  • Symptoms that you and your doctor have not been able to connect to a physical health problem?
  • Alcohol and/or drug concerns along with a mental health issue?
  • Have a difficult family or personal relationship?
  • Struggling to do well at work or school or socially?
  • Have a child/children or parent who is/are causing you concern?
  • Just want a mental health check-up?

What can I expect at my first visit?

We start your treatment with a full diagnostic assessment that looks at all facets of your past and present situation.  Then if you wish we work together with you to develop an individualized service plan that contains specific treatment goals and objectives.

For many conditions a combination of psychotherapy ("talk therapy") and psychiatric care and medication is most effective.  For people with severe and persistent mental illness, case management can be a vital part of the service mix as well.

How do I get started?

All you need to do is call us and request an intake appointment.  A licensed social worker or counselor, trained at the Master's level, will complete the assessment and discuss the results with you.
